Acceptable Use Policy

1. Don't Do Illegal Stuff

  • Don't use the Service to violate any law or regulation.
  • Don't post, share, request, or solicit child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any sexual content involving minors. We report CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to law enforcement.
  • Don't engage in human trafficking, terrorism, doxxing, stalking, or threats of violence.
  • Don't sell illegal goods or services, or coordinate criminal activity, through the Service.

2. Respect Other People

  • No harassment, bullying, hate speech, or targeted abuse based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or serious disease.
  • No incitement of violence or self-harm.
  • No sharing of another person's private information ("doxxing") without their clear consent.
  • No non-consensual intimate imagery or sexual content involving identifiable real people.
  • Don't impersonate other people, brands, or Grapevine staff in a misleading way.

3. Don't Break the Service

  • No spam, scams, phishing, or unsolicited bulk messaging.
  • No malware, viruses, worms, ransomware, or other harmful code.
  • No automated mass account creation, credential stuffing, scraping, or other abusive automation. Bots must operate through Grapevine's official developer/bot APIs and follow rate limits.
  • No attempts to bypass rate limits, authentication, permissions, moderation tools, or other security measures.
  • No denial-of-service activity, port scanning, vulnerability scanning, or penetration testing without our written permission.
  • No reverse engineering, decompiling, or extracting source code from the Service except as permitted by law.

4. Voice, Video, and Screen Sharing

  • Don't record voice or video calls, or capture another participant's screen share, without the participants' consent. Some jurisdictions require all-party consent.
  • Don't transmit content during calls or screen sharing that would violate any other part of this AUP.
  • Don't use call audio to harass, threaten, or play disruptive sounds at others.

5. Content You Post

  • Don't post content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, right of publicity, or other intellectual property right. See our DMCA Policy.
  • Don't post sexually explicit material in age-restricted spaces unless an explicit opt-in mechanism exists, and never post such content where minors may be present.
  • Don't post personal data of others (addresses, phone numbers, government IDs, financial info) without consent.
  • Don't upload files designed to crash, hang, or exploit other users' clients (e.g., malicious GLB models, decompression bombs).

6. Developer Bots, Webhooks, and OAuth Apps

  • Bots must clearly identify themselves and may not pretend to be humans in misleading ways.
  • Don't request OAuth scopes you don't actually need, and don't use received data for purposes the user did not authorize.
  • Don't sell, transfer, or expose user data obtained through Grapevine APIs.
  • Bots that send spam, scrape data at scale, or facilitate violations of this AUP will be removed.

7. Reporting

To report a violation, email abuse@grapevine.li with:

  • A description of what happened.
  • The Grapevine usernames, room names, and approximate timestamps involved.
  • Any relevant screenshots, message IDs, or URLs.

8. Enforcement

We may, in our reasonable discretion, take any of the following actions in response to violations:

  • Remove or hide offending content.
  • Warn the user.
  • Temporarily restrict features (e.g., voice, uploads, forum posting).
  • Suspend or permanently terminate the account.
  • Report the activity to law enforcement.

We may take action without prior notice when we believe doing so is necessary to protect users, the Service, or third parties. We may also preserve account information and content as needed to investigate violations or comply with legal obligations.

9. Repeat Infringers

We will terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who are repeat infringers of intellectual property rights or who repeatedly violate this AUP.

10. Changes

We may update this AUP as the Service evolves. The "Last updated" date will reflect any revision. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
